Description of the company's activities
The Plastic Cluster (PLASTR) was established in February 2007 as a common interest group of legal entities with the goal of creating a communications platform for members - plastics producers.
Business activity

Mission:
To create a communications platform for members of the Plastic Cluster.
Vision:
For Zlín to become the centre of innovative plastic production in the Czech Republic.
Supporting activities:
• Education and training in the region, human resource development,
• Research, development and innovation,
• Research and development cooperation,
• Business advertising,
• Business lobbying,
• Cooperation with the Regional innovation strategy and Strategy of the Zlín Region to 2020.
PLASTR projects:
• Education and training for the plastics industry (accreditation of bachelor’s degree in "Polymer Technology", pilot project "Education of technical midlevel personnel for the plastics industry"),
• Joint purchasing of energy and raw materials,
• Benchmarking capabilities of PLASTR members and evaluating capabilities
of the Cluster,
• "Proplastr" (publicity campaign to advertise the plastics processing business),
• Task resolution cooperation on 3 projects from the 7th framework program for advancement of EU research and development program (Cerada, Interreg,
Clusterplast),
• Major cross-border partner of the Czech-Slovak AUTOPLAST cross-border partnership project "Creating conditions for the qualitative improvement
of human resources for the needs of the automotive industry in the field of plastics",
• Cooperation with automotive producer groups in Bohemia and Slovakia.

• Workforce of 3,944 employees (40 % women).
• 152 new jobs created in 2010.
• Revenue approaching 8 billion CZK (7,870,650,000 CZK).
• Almost one half of production is exported (49.8 %).
• Value added amount reached 32 % of revenue.
• Profit of the companies was cca 756 million CZK.

information is that investments (mostly into technology) exceeded 654 million CZK.
